Dear readers,

Today I have selected a few items to put up for sale on our brand new SALE page.

As you can see it is mostly very summer-inspired stuff like dresses or light tops and some shoes. Later on we might still add some accessories like scarfs, handbags etc, so be sure to keep checking out the SALE page!

Especially wih the Essentiel stocksale coming up next week (check all the details here), it’s time to clean up and get my closet ready for adding some new finds.

The items will also be put online on our Flemish Fashion Freaks Facebook group, so be sure to join us there if you like any of the item.

Happy shopping !

OUTFITPOST – Blue skies

20 May

Dear readers,

We are finally getting the temperatures and weather we have been longing for this weekend!

It was a perfect timing as we wanted to visit a local airshow to check out the SpittFire and other big roaring machines most men usually like… Mine is no exception to this! 😀

Me personally? I was just happy that it is finally time to take those poor neglected summer shoes out of the box again, yay !

By consequence it was also time to choose a nailpolish for my feet as they were about to feel the breeze again after waaaaaay too long. YSL Les Fauves came to the rescue! Just love it how the gold base nailpolish shimmers through the black texture coat on top of it… Pure magic! This YSL nailpolish is also an excellent combination with my black suede Pedro Garcia sandals with little gemstones, as the footbed is also in gold which enhances the textured black/gold effect.

Since I was not sure the weather would stay as good for the entire day, I opted for a ‘safe’ royal blue skinny jeans from ONLY, these babies have been mine already for more tha 4 years but they still do the trick!

The top with sparkly padded shoulders is from H&M ( the yellow leather bag is H&M too), the owl ecklace I scored at Mango. My blue studded belt is from Talking French at Maasmechelen Village. The printed scarf is from Pieces.

What are you wearing on this beautiful day?

With love, Nona

OUTFITPOST – That 70’s Show

3 May

Lately I have been feeling very boho-minded, so I dug up my favourite pair of flared jeans out of the dressing & put it back in rotation.

Combining it with an effortlessly chic green blazer from River Island and a colourpop floral top from Vero Moda, this is the perfect outfit for a day of work, if you are also going out for dinner & drinks with your friends afterwards.

Blazer – River Island / Top – Vero Moda / Jeans – ONLY / Bracelets – Pieces & Accessorize / Necklace – Pieces / Shoes – Vulcan

Do you like my outfit?

Outfit post – SPRING TIME

14 Apr

Dear readers,

it’s so good to be back on the blog after our winter hibernation, which was primarily caused by my new busy job I started last Fall and an unfortunate illness which struck me down for about a month.

But -just as the first flowers start to blossom and the birds start to sing- I thought it was time to present you with some brand new outfit posts  & exciting new seasonal previews again, starting from today.

I personally always get a sort of subconcious need to buy new shoes when I spot the first signs of spring… The (shopping) result? Already 3 pairs of new summer shoes in the last month (mostly wedges, this really is a must-have this season, comfortable and elegant all at once). … Probably this is not the end of my spring madness, as the highsummer collections are still to hit the shops in a few weeks.. Uhhh owwww!

For pictures of the new shoes you’ll still have to have a bit of patience (Yes, I know, I am such a tease), but I do have something else to show you : my brand new haircut and colour !

Parka – ONLY / Printed blouse – Steps / Mint green tracktop – H&M / Blue skinny – ONLY / Clutch – Pieces / Fascinator hairband – Accessorize / Ballerinas – Diesel

Nail colours (fromleft to right) :

Rimmel – Blue my mind / Estée Lauder – C6 Fuchsia / O.P.I. – Green -wich Village / Rimmel – Sky High / O.P.I. – Need Sunglasses?

I decided to loose about 10 to 15 cms of my hair, as I thought the time was right for a shorter more edgy look. The hair colour is a very bright copper tint, normally the colour is a bit more dark.

The flip side of the new colour is that I now look a bit paler than I was before, but the first serious rays of sunshine will take care of that problem soon enough.

As I was feeling ‘creative’ last week, I also decided to paint my finger nails in 5 different colours, it gives me a happy feeling every time I look at it and the comments have been nothing but positive, so I think I will try this again with a few new nail laquer coloursI’m trying to find at the moment.

So what do you think about my new haircut, do you like it? What haircut or colour would you like to try out this season?

With love, Nona

OUTFIT POST – Sporty red

18 Sep

Dear readers,

As you can see below, I have already found my ‘cannot-live-without’ tshirt for this season.  This T can be combined in so many different ways : folk/sporty/dressed up, just everything goes with this little River Island number! You might have also noticed this beauty in some previous outfit posts from last month.

This week, I wanted to go for a sporty yet office-proof look, combining my ONLY boyfriend jeans with a smart red blazer and my casual white/beige top from River Island. I am also a big collector and fan of special edition sport shoes, this pair I scored a few years ago from Sacha’s own range, I wish they would put these in production again with different colours!

What do you think of this outfit?

With love, Nona

OUTFIT POST – I’m a MANIAC on the (work)floor!

5 Sep

Dear readers,

As of today I can officially call myself a Media Maniac! I love my new job at this PR agency and hope many exciting new things will happen while working there!

Before falling into a deep sleep after my succesful first day at work , I wanted to share a few outfit pictures with what I wore today.

I decided to go for a comfortable outfit that resists all the challenges nature threw at us today: one minute the sun was shining, the next one rain started pouring down, then sun again… What the flying heck?!?

For this occasion my boyfriend jeans with a long blue blazer and extra scarf/sweater (hidden in the purse) were the perfect match to counter this mumbo jumbo weather.

I’m also looking very much forward to visit the hairdressers this week-end (fiiinally after months of ‘sun-kissed hair’, let’s call it that) as well as the European Arrow launch next Thursday…

Now off to bed, as I am really beat after such an intense day, in order to be ready for more tomorrow!

With love, Nona

As you can see, the cat wanted to be in the picture too! Maybe she just really missed me after being used to seeing me during the (work)day. Either way, she is such a cutie, I missed her too ;-D

Blazer – H&M

Top – Mango

Jeans – ONLY

Belt – Vintage

Bracelets – Accessorize and local market

Shoes – Diesel

Handbag – Pieces

Necklace – Forever 21

OUTFIT POST- My green envy

19 Aug

Dear readers,

First of all I want to express my apologies for not posting my outfit pictures with my new green Zara tote yesterday (as was promised the day before). As some of my best friends were at Pukkelpop festival on the moment the storm took place and tents and trees started falling down, I had other more important things on my head than blogging, I just wanted them to give a sign of life, which was sometimes impossible due to the overcharged cellphone network…

Luckily my friends are allright, which unfortunately cannot be said for all the visitors. That’s why I would like to send out my deepest sympathy to the parents and friends of the victims at Pukkelpop, these are very hard times where we need to support each other any way we can.

Today it was announced that the festival will not be continued this weekend due to the technical difficulties, which is a very sad first time in Belgian festival history… On the other hand, I believe that many of the visitors did NOT feel like partying anymore after enduring such a dramatical episode at the festival. Neither would I if I had encountered some heavy shizzle like this.

On to another topic, I want to share my outfit post with you that was created around my freshly bought new green Zara purse.

I just LOVE this new slouchy leather bag that I ordered at Zara.com, it matches the paintcolour of our living room perfectly (which was not a personal goal but rather a funny  coincidence) and is made of two types of different leather (the green part= sheep and the black part cow). I had noticed this bag for the first time in Grazia UK magazine, after which I instantly fell in love and went on a quest for it… Luckily this didn’t take long, as I immediately ordered it online and found it delivered to my doorstep only a few days later… Hooray for the Zara website!

As this bag is a true popcolour, I decided to tone it down a bit by combining it with an old torn up jeans and next add a black blazer to smarten up the look. Do you like my bag/outfit?

Blazer – Mango

Top – Vila

Jeans – ONLY

Shoes – Diesel

Bag – Zara

But there’s more green goodies for all you readers to admire! I must admit that I have sported a serious case of green envy lately, as my recent shopping list includes this Zara tote, a long wool military jacket and a dress from Mango, all in various shades of green… In a few days I will also put a picture online of my new emerald green Mango dress, as I have bought this especially for my holiday (leaving in one week, at LAST) and the khaki wool jacket was bought for my new job, so you can also expect some pictures of that item when temperatures plumet somewhere in September .

As you can see it was pretty dark in the pictures since the photos were taken during the big storm I told you about earlier in this article, sorry for the bad quality… I’m hoping for some sunshine for my next outfit post 😉

With love, Nona

OUTFIT POST – Letting out my inner geek

22 Jul

Dear readers,

After more than a week of  ‘radio silence on Flemish Fashion Freaks due to no internet acces while on holiday, I finally got back to the real world (WITH my precious internet that is) to put up a post on my new outfit I wore a few days ago. .. Just in time me thinks as I started to show rehab symptons while away, in the form of harassing non-suspecting hotel and restaurant owners to let me use their computer/internet.

As I’m normally more the bohemian or rock chick type of dresser, I wanted to try something else this time, something completely new to me, and as I will begin working again at the start of September, an office-proof outfit that’s still hip and happening seemed the only valid option to go for right now.

I decided to go for the Geek Chic look that has been rocking the streets and magazines for quite some time , as this way I could finally put my cool animalprint glasses from Vans to good use ! I combined it with my longsleeved denim shirt to add a little edge to the mix, to prevent the outfit from becoming TOO goody-goody-two-shoes.

Is this a trend you like or hate? Please do not hesitate to share your opinion with us, as we’re very curious about what you think!

Now, enough chit-chatter, I hope you like the outfit pix!  Sorry for the bad quality of some photos:  I was forced to take them inside as the weather was not on my side during the shoot (read: thunderstorms and the occasional lightening flash).

With love, Nona

OUTFIT POST – Breaking the ban

13 Jun

I’ve been a real naughty girl yesterday… I promised myself I wouldn’t buy any fashion items anymore for as long as possible as I a m trying to save up some money for a holiday this summer. Going strong already for more than a month, I was quite satisfied with my accomplishment/fashion ban, that was until my boyfriend asked me to join him to  a DIY store to get some garden equipment. Not realizing yet what was hanging above my head, I took on the journey with him and drove to our local Hubo store.

Once arrived at the location, I noticed that there was a shop that was of quite some more interest to me, Siesta, a road store that sells shoes and clothes…. uuuhmm, say what? It doesn’t hurt to just take a sneak peek before the sales take off on the 1st of July, right? As I whirlwinded into Siesta, I left my boyfriend to do the garden shopping by himself, as I am not really the plant enthousiastic or connaisseur to be honest and I felt my time would be better spent in there, instead of braving the Sunday hords of DIY fanatics Belgium is famous for….

Big mistake! Ofcourse I instantly fell in love with a pair of studded shoes, which were still available in my size ( a not so easy 42)… WHYYYYY, faith, must you tease me like this!? I decided not to JUMP on the opportunity immediately and await my boyfriend’s arrival to let him decide whether he liked the shoes and if I should go for it…

End balance? I am now the proud owner of a new pair of wonderful sparkly studded shoes and on the other hand also have a serious conscience issue I am unsuccesfully trying to ignore… So far for my ban, I guess! Must start over, back to start, you cannot pass the bank, to say it in Monopoly terms…

Not to leave you lusting any longer, here are some pictures of my new sweetie pies, they clearly deserve some ‘airtime’ as they were the ones responsible for the ban being broken 😉 Hope you like the shoes and the outfit created around them!

(The crazy shot)

Wednesday’s pressdays outfit

30 Apr

What a hectic week it has been, filled with the pressdays organisation, a nice bloggers meeting organized by Oona and several parties and fashion events.

After getting a bit of rest, I am finally ready to share some pics with you from the outfit I wore on Wednesday when I was hosting our own pressdays at Bestseller. After that I visited Oona for the Groupon bloggers meeting.

We had a very warm welcome from the entire Oona team, who tried their utter best to provide us with everything we needed, from news about cool new collections to a tasty buffet and nice cocktails & drinks. It was also very nice meeting so many bloggers I had not yet seen IRL.

There were some magnificent collections to discover from River Island, Essentiel, Forever 21 and more…

But for those pictures you’ll have to wait until tomorrow, when I’ll post my pressdays review with my favourite pieces. In the meanwhile, please enjoy the outfit pics!

Black blazer with padded shoulders: ONLY / Sheer print top : VILA / Green skinny trousers : H&M / Bracelets : Accessorize + Pieces / Wedges : TEVA

(The pics were taken after getting home from Oona, as you can tell by the lighting it was already pretty late)

My 10 month old cat Mira LOVES to be in the centre of attention, so she is also starring in these pics. She is my favourite little black accessory that goes with about everything (except white pants, hate the cathairs on those!)  😉

With love, Nona
