Outfitpost – Out for dinner

23 May

Hi there!

Today I was lucky enough to have a day off from work:so I visited the stocksales from Protest and Lila Grace, basked a bit (okay, to be honest : a LOT) in the sun and had a lovely dinner with my boyfriend, mother and stepfamily at Karveel in Antwerp. Good times!

With the high temperatures I opted for a Grecian inspired short black  blue dress from ASOS teamed up with a green blazer from Forever 21 and studded grey leather heels (Rieker). The woven blue leather clutch is from Pieces Accessories.

The nailpolish is YSL – Les Fauves in black & gold

OUTFITPOST – Blue skies

20 May

Dear readers,

We are finally getting the temperatures and weather we have been longing for this weekend!

It was a perfect timing as we wanted to visit a local airshow to check out the SpittFire and other big roaring machines most men usually like… Mine is no exception to this! 😀

Me personally? I was just happy that it is finally time to take those poor neglected summer shoes out of the box again, yay !

By consequence it was also time to choose a nailpolish for my feet as they were about to feel the breeze again after waaaaaay too long. YSL Les Fauves came to the rescue! Just love it how the gold base nailpolish shimmers through the black texture coat on top of it… Pure magic! This YSL nailpolish is also an excellent combination with my black suede Pedro Garcia sandals with little gemstones, as the footbed is also in gold which enhances the textured black/gold effect.

Since I was not sure the weather would stay as good for the entire day, I opted for a ‘safe’ royal blue skinny jeans from ONLY, these babies have been mine already for more tha 4 years but they still do the trick!

The top with sparkly padded shoulders is from H&M ( the yellow leather bag is H&M too), the owl ecklace I scored at Mango. My blue studded belt is from Talking French at Maasmechelen Village. The printed scarf is from Pieces.

What are you wearing on this beautiful day?

OUTFITPOST – That 70’s Show

3 May

Lately I have been feeling very boho-minded, so I dug up my favourite pair of flared jeans out of the dressing & put it back in rotation.

Combining it with an effortlessly chic green blazer from River Island and a colourpop floral top from Vero Moda, this is the perfect outfit for a day of work, if you are also going out for dinner & drinks with your friends afterwards.

OUTFITPOST – MY PERFECT ACCESSORIES

1 May

Dear readers,

Maasmechelen Village invited me last week to come discover their new collections as they are currently organizing a special campaign , called Art of the Detail. You can read all about it in my previous post.

They asked me to look for my perfect accessory for this season and boy, it didn’t take me long to find it!

Actually (typically me), I opted for 2 accessories which can be worn perfectly together. At Fossil, I found this to-die-for green leather satchel, which is a style you never can go wrong with if you ask me. The army green colour can be combined with many pop colours and over the top prints, so I may count this baby as a good asset to my current wardrobe.

The other accessory which immediately stole my heart is a thin studded belt in tan leather from Talking French… I heart it so much that I decided to also buy the belt in blue… With those outlet prices, I didn’t even think twice about it.

To put the look together I decided I also needed a new dress to combine the accessories with (well, I didn’t really need it, you know, but when a girl is on a roll…). This new baby comes from Talking French aswell,  love the print and colour combo. Trans-seasonal dress : check!

I had some fun today with the boyfriend and went on our very first ‘location shoot’ (sounds fancy if you say it like that, better than I walked down the street to the tunnel, ha). Below you can see the result.

Jacket – Object C.I./ Dress – Talking French/ Belt – Talking French/ Leather bag – Fossil/ Sunglasses – adidas Originals Eyewear/ Boots – Sacha

The pearly nailpolish is from Rituals new ‘Urban Chic’ make-up range, I really love the way it sparkles in the sun! It is also very easy to apply and comes at a reasonable price, a win-win situation!

Do you like the new accessories? What is your must-have accessory this season?

OUTFIT POST – Afterhours fun

6 Oct

Dear readers,

Today my colleague Dorothée and I decided to do an crazy impromptu afterhours outfitshoot at work, as I am the proud owner of yet another beautiful dress I recently bought at JBC. Their Fall collections are very trendy yet comfortable and affordable at the same time, so I really had to hold myself back or I would have bought so many more items, if not the entire collection. JBC used to have a somewhat dusty image but in my opinion they have seriously stepped up their game in the last few years, initiating cool campaigns and collaborations with Belgium’s finest, such as Walter Van Beirendonck, Christophe Coppens and (my personal favourite) Chris Janssens. I also shopped a  new item from the new capsule collection from Chris Janssens by JBC, I will share some pics of that item later on.

It was a really fun and original way to end a working day like this, as Dorothée kept saying things like ‘Jump forward from behind the curtain’, or ‘Put on some glasses’ , ‘Stand next to the dolls’. I was very willing to oblige as I am known to be a bit crazy too sometimes 😉

Below the results of our little shoot, do you like my new dress from JBC?

OUTFITPOST – Going green

21 Sep

Dear readers,

I fear we have had our last portion of (somewhat) warm weather last week. It was the perfect occasion to put on my newly scored green print dress and blazer from Forever 21 without stockings, as there will be plenty of time left the coming months to cover my legs.

I used the black scarf from the dress as a waistband, but there’s also a cute black patent belt included when I bought it: this means many combination possiblities for very little money, just as we like it! The yellow bag comes from H&M and there’s a little story behind it. I went on a search for it after I spotted it in a Flair styling by Harald Ligtvoet… There was only one bag left in yellow in the store in Antwerp centre, it was located in the shop window and the friendly visual merchandizer became my new BFF on the spot as she offered to take it out of the shop window display for me, so I wouldn’t have to wait until all the mannequins were changed two weeks later. I have treasured it ever since and always have to smile remembering this anecdote. Especially because it was incredible crowdy at the moment it happened and it took me quite some time to locate the merchandizer.

The black studded motor boots were bought at Invito during Glamour’s Shopping Day two years ago, they are incredible comfortable and can jazz up any outfit in an instant. The bracelets are from various brands and local markets.

Now it’s time to start searching for more autumn-inspired outfits and get that big box of stockings out of the attic, they surely will come in handy the next few months! Stay tuned for the autumn outfit posts, I will post the first new outfitpost with my new winter coat and suede camel wedge boots somewhere this week!

OUTFIT POST – Sporty red

18 Sep

Dear readers,

As you can see below, I have already found my ‘cannot-live-without’ tshirt for this season.  This T can be combined in so many different ways : folk/sporty/dressed up, just everything goes with this little River Island number! You might have also noticed this beauty in some previous outfit posts from last month.

This week, I wanted to go for a sporty yet office-proof look, combining my ONLY boyfriend jeans with a smart red blazer and my casual white/beige top from River Island. I am also a big collector and fan of special edition sport shoes, this pair I scored a few years ago from Sacha’s own range, I wish they would put these in production again with different colours!

What do you think of this outfit?

OUTFITPOST – Indian Summer

12 Sep

Dear readers,

As you have read before, I started a nw exciting job last week, which initially has been taking up a lot of my time and energy, resulting in a small but temporary neglect for our poor fashion blog Flemish Fashion Freaks… This means I’ll need to start planning my blogposts more carefully in the future, writing ahead like many of our fellow bloggers…

For the next week I’ve planned a few outfit posts from my first week at the new job, a picture report of the Arrow event that took place last week as well as some pictures of my recent fashion loves I discovered in shops, online or anywhere else.. So stay tuned for more!

Below I’ve put up a few pictures from my ethnical inspired outfit I wore last week. Due to the bad weather, we we’re forced to take the pictures inside, that’s why the pics are a bit dark.

The white slogan tshirt from River Island is my current favourite top, so you will see it in other future outfit posts too, as I feel this tee has much potential to be combined in many different ways. My ethnical printed sweater is a new fashion gem from Forever 21, which I scored at the official launch last week, it has been keeping me warm ever since and will keep doing so for a long time I hope! The suede shorts are from Mango, the handbag is from Pieces Accessories. The boots were bought at Brantano a few years ago.
